NOTABLE NEWS and EVENTS
 
INDEPENDENCE DAY at the BEACH 2022
 
July 4th fell on a Monday this year.  A special appreciation to our Police and Fire Departments!!!  The town was packed.  It was a lovely, cool day and evening, and the nighttime brought tons of firework displays on the Beach.  See my pictures and video on my website at www.OceanShoresInfo.com/pics/july4th2022.html.
 
5-STAR DEALERSHIP'S SAND & SAWDUST FESTIVAL 2022
 
The popular and fun Sand and Sawdust Festival is held on the Beach and at the Convention Center.  It was very warm where temperatures reached into the mid-80s.  See my pictures and video on my website at www.OceanShoresInfo.com/pics/sandsawdustfestival2022.html.
 
FLAG DAY PARADE 2022
 
Celebrating the United States Flag, Old Glory, flying high and celebrating its symbol of our Freedom.  I did not get many pictures and video because I was in the parade with my church, but still check out my pictures and video on my website at www.OceanShoresInfo.com/pics/flagdayparade2022.html.  It was a great day!

OTHER NOTABLE LOCAL NEWS
  • The City is working on new building codes for manufactured homes, ie must be on a permanent foundation.
  • The Pharmacy made its move over to the Ocean Sunset Drug Store building.
  • The Door Mouse Boutique moved over to The Boardwalk Shops (the red building).
  • New Businesses:  Pizza Factory is now open (where Alec's-by-the-Sea Restaurant was located by the IGA) -- it has very good food.

MARKET ACTIVITY/UPDATE
(April 1st-June 30th & January 1st-June 30th)
  • Median Sales Price for Homes increased from $239,950 in the 1st-half 2020 to $324,950 in the 1st-half 2021 to $399K in the 1st-half of 2022.
  • Median Sales Price for Lots increased from $25,000 in the 1st-half 2020 to $54K in the 1st-half 2021 to $59K in the 1st-half of 2022.
  • The Total of Listings has greatly increased, and over doubled for homes since a year ago.
  • The Total # of Solds has decreased from a year ago.
