INDEPENDENCE DAY at the BEACH 2019

FIVE STAR DEALERSHIPS SAND and SAWDUST FESTIVAL ~ June 2019
 
Beautiful weather marked this weekend of fun.  One of the best annual events in Ocean Shores.  Something new was the Sand Art on the Beach, and of course wood carving creations.  Check out my pictures and video on my website at www.OceanShoresInfo.com/pics/sandsawdustfestival2019.html   
 
FLAG DAY PARADE ~ June 2019

OTHER NOTABLE LOCAL NEWS
  • The City of Ocean Shores issued 88 single-family new home permits for Jan 1st-June 30th, 2019.  You can see the entire report from the Permit Office at https://www.osgov.com/files/2019%20PermitsIssued%20(002).pdf.
  • The new Ace/Buck Electric building is now Open on Pt Brown Ave NW (next to the movie theater).
  • The Ocean Shores Pharmacy will also be making a move over to a new building still under construction by the current location where IGA and Alec's Restaurant are located.
  • New Restaurant Open:  Double Barrel BBQ at 732 Pt Brown Ave NE.  They have good brisket.
  • New Business/Special Food shop:  Back Porch Smoked Meats & Cheese House at 861 Pt Brown Ave NW.  They have some really good meats and cheeses.
 
UPCOMING EVENTS 
  • August 10th ~ Ocean Shores Woof-a-Thon: dog event.
  • Aug 30th-Sept 1st ~ AAOS Arts & Crafts Festival: held at the Convention Center.
  • August 31st ~ Paddle-the-Shores: all skill levels are welcome; held at the Oyhut Bay Dock on the Lake Minard Canal.
  • September 20th-22nd ~ Whale of a Quilt Show: quilt show held at the Convention Center.
  • October 16th-20th ~ Irish Music Festival: largest Irish music festival on the West Coast.
  • Nov 29th-Dec 1st ~ Winter Fanta-Sea:  Christmas shopping at the Convention Center.

MARKET ACTIVITY/UPDATE

(April 1st-June 30th & January 1st-June 30th)
  • Median Sales Price for Homes increased from $211,000 in 2018 to $229,900 in 2019.
  • Median Sales Price for Lots increased from $15,000 in 2018 to $21,500 in 2019.
  • The # of Listings is down.
The numbers below show that Ocean Shores is still one of the leaders for affordability, availability and productivity (# of properties and volume closed) compared to the other beach towns along the Washington Coast.  Ocean Shores also offers a lot more availability and affordability for building lots and homes.
