WINTER SNOW CAME TO THE BEACH

OTHER NOTABLE LOCAL NEWS
  • 2 Commercial Buildings on Pt Brown Ave NW have been bought and are undergoing major remodeling...stay tuned for updates on the businesses that will be going in them.
  • The Ocean Crest Resort Restaurant in Moclips is still under construction (ruined by a fire).
  • The Ocean Shores City Council approved a 10-day camping allowance for Homeowners.  In a rule that has been primarily un-realized and unenforced, properties with homes were allowed to park RVs/trailers/5th-wheels year-round, but not allowed to be used by overnight guests.  So for Homeowners, it is now legal to have guests/family stay in your RV/trailer/5th-wheel up to 10-days per year.
    NOTE:  The 90-day camping rule on Vacant Land still applies.  The above rule only applies to properties with homes.

  • June 14th ~ Flag Day Parade: held in the streets of downtown Ocean Shores celebrating Old Glory.
  • June 27th-29th ~ Five Star Dealerships Sand & Sawdust Festival: Sandcastle Building and Wood Carving competitions and displays.
  • July 4th ~ Family 4th Festival: held at the Convention Center, then enjoy fireworks on the Beach.
  • July 12th-13th ~ Triathlon & Foot Fest: running events held throughout the streets of Ocean Shores.
  • July 25th-27th ~ Sun & Surf Run: motorcycles comes to Ocean Shores.

1st-Quarter 2014 ACTIVITY/UPDATE
(January 1st-March 31st)

We are off to a good start for 2014.  Here are some positive numbers:
  • # of Homes Sold in Ocean Shores increased from 38 in the 1st-Q of 2013 to 52 in the 1st-Q of 2014
  • Median Sales Price for Homes increased from $139,900 at end of 2013 to $145K in the 1st-Q of 2014
  • # of Lots Sold in Ocean Shores increased from 27 in the 1st-Q of 2013 to 35 in the 1st-Q of 2014
The numbers below show that Ocean Shores is still one of the leaders for affordability, availability and productivity (# of properties and volume closed) compared to the other beach towns along the Washington Coast.  Ocean Shores also offers a lot more availability and affordability for building lots.
