2nd-Quarter/1st-Half 2015 MARKET ACTIVITY/UPDATE(April 1st - June 30th and January 1st - June 30th)

 
We having the best year so far compared to the past few years.  Here are some very positive numbers:
  • # of Sold Properties (in all categories) went up dramatically from the 1st-half of 2014 (203 properties and $20M) to the 1st-half of 2015 (297 properties and $30M)
  • # of House Listings went down from 259 on 6/30/14 to 197 on 6/30/15
  • # of Land Listings went down from 552 at the end of December 2014 to 515 at the end of June 2015

The numbers below show that Ocean Shores is still one of the leaders for affordability, availability and productivity (# of properties and volume closed) compared to the other beach towns along the Washington Coast.  Ocean Shores also offers a lot more availability and affordability for building lots.

July 4, 2015 ~ Independence Day fell on a Saturday this year, and we had the greatest number of people I have seen in the past few years.  It was packed!

Five Star Dealerships Sand and Sawdust Festival 2015
 

June 26th-28th ~ The annual Five Star Dealerships Sand and Sawdust Festival was held over the weekend. The weather was great with Sunny skies on Friday and Saturday and some clouds on Sunday. There were a ton of people in town. The Master's and Intermediate Division was held on the beach. The Singles Division was done at different venues -- the Convention Center, Bennett's Fish Shack, and the Playtime Family Fun Center.

The crisp cedar smells permeated the air at the Woodcarving Competitions in front of the Convention Center, which always produces many pieces of art. Master Chainsaw Carvers from around the world and the United States compete for thousands of dollars in prizes. Competitions took place from 9-4 on Friday and Saturday and 8-1 on Sunday. The Awards Ceremony and Auction was held on Sunday at 4pm. You will have to wait until next year to have a chance to take home a piece of original art!

Additional activities inside and outside the Convention Center included approximately 40+ Food and Craft Vendors.
